Status codes explained
| Status | What it means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Approved | You have qualified for the current month and a payment is being processed. | No action - check your bank or collection point on payment day. |
| Pending | Your application is still being checked against the means-test databases. | Wait. Most applications resolve within 7β14 days. |
| Declined: Means test failed | SASSA found bank account inflows above R624 in the assessed month. | Lodge a reconsideration within 90 days. |
| Declined: Identity verification | Home Affairs could not verify your ID number. | Visit a Home Affairs office with your ID, then re-apply. |
| Declined: UIF registered | You appear as a UIF claimant. | Confirm UIF status with Labour; appeal if UIF has lapsed. |
| Declined: NSFAS registered | NSFAS has you flagged as funded. | Appeal with proof from NSFAS if your funding ended. |
| Bank Details Pending | Your banking details have not yet been verified. | Log in to srd.sassa.gov.za and add or update banking details. |
| Application Date Issue | Reapplication after a gap may need a fresh submission. | Submit a new application from the homepage. |
| Reapplication Pending | You qualified before but need to reconfirm details. | Log in and tap "Reapply" to refresh personal info. |
Tip
Status updates are cached. If you've just submitted, wait at least 24 hours before checking. If you've just updated banking details, allow 5β7 working days for "Bank Details Pending" to resolve.
